Reupholstery
In this issue of Home of the Month we would like to spotlight a previous customer of FEP. Did you know that FEP does re-upholstery in addition to remodeling and painting?
This latest project was centered around transforming a three season sun room into a brighter, more inviting space.
Our homeowners wanted to update their beautiful wicker settee, chair, ottoman and dinette set with new fabric. To ease the seemingly “daunting” process of choosing a new fabric, our interior designer, John asked numerous questions to develop an understanding of our customer’s taste. In doing so, John was able to narrow down the choices of fabrics for them. Several home visits were made to ensure that color choices of the fabrics worked with the lighting of their room, as well as blend with the adjoining surroundings. The result—a look that is aesthetically pleasing while having comfortable and functional updated furniture pieces. We make it our highest priority to know that our customers are totally satisfied and happy. We came to find that these homeowners were thrilled with the choices made! As we always say, “Your home should be a reflection of you.”
For this project, we chose two coordinating fabrics to add variety in design and create an inviting atmosphere. The dinette set seat cushions were upholstered with the pattern, “Merrill” and the color choice was blue beige. The wicker settee, chair and ottoman were covered in the same blue beige color but with the pattern, “Tulie.” Both of these fabrics give a relaxed feel to the room but still add that touch of soft elegance.
To coordinate with the fabrics, John picked a wall color to lighten the room and make it feel larger. The ceiling in the sun room was originally knotty pine and we dry walled the soffits to eliminate the existing plywood seams and texture. Repairs were made to any imperfections on the walls, ceilings, wood trim, and doors and then a complete stain blocking primer was applied on the ceiling to seal the wood from the knot bleed through. The walls and ceiling were completed with two finish coats of paint.
Lastly, our homeowners were looking for a blind to complete their transformation. They chose the sheer view semi private shade. This shade reduces UV exposure to furniture, carpeting and other textiles.
We would like to thank our HOM home owners for allowing us to serve them. It has been our pleasure to work with them in making choices for their home. We look forward to the completion of their living room, soon to come. Stay tuned!
